Theo was a surprise signing for the Tigers for 2011 and could well turn out to be a trump card. Like many foreign riders, he started young, on a 50cc moto cross bike at the age of 5.
He has an excellent pedigree and will be remembered by many Tigers fans for his performances in Edinburgh colours when he first rode speedway in the UK.
As well as Premier League, he has some Elite League experience with Swindon but it is fair to say his last dalliance with PL speedway did not go to plan. He struggled in the time he spent with Mildenhall, albeit in a struggling team and his average plummeted from the circa 8 point average he had with our rivals.
After that Theo took time away from speedway and concentrated on his grass track, where there can be absolutely no doubt of his pedigree, having previously been crowned European Grass track champion and indeed being runner up last season.
A former track record holder at Edinburgh, it is thought the new style Ashfield track should be well to Theo’s liking and the talented Dutchman could well prove to be an ace in Glasgow’s pack.
