It is fair to say that it wasn't one of his better meetings but he was up against a very high quality field. Robert looked to struggle to come to terms with the track surface on a circuit he had never raced before, especially in his first two outings where he was quoted as looking a little rusty. However, things picked up for him in his third ride when he comfortably claimed third in a tough heat against Sam Masters and Cameron Woodward.
He followed that up with a second spot behind overall third place rider on the night Rohan Tungate, beating Justin Sedgmen, who had previously claimed two hat wins, and former Tiger Jake Anderson. A missed gate in his final outing was to prove costly and leave him at the back.
The meeting result left Robert lying in 12th place overall with a championship points tally of 7 points.
The riders now move on to Kurri Kurri for round two of the championship next Saturday evening where Robert's new Tigers team mate Mason Campton will also be in the pits having been named as third reserve for the meeting
