Glasgow have already confirmed that naturally they will not run a meeting that Sunday and a good number of Tigers fans will be heading down to Sheffield - Shane's final 'parent' club and his home track last season - to show their appreciation.

Shane has given 22 years of service to British Speedway and will be a big miss to the UK speedway scene on and off the track as well as amongst fellow riders. There will no doubt be a queue of riders wanting to turn out for the event and it promises to be a cracker.

Of course Glasgow fans will get a chance to get details from the man himself nearer to the meeting date as Shane will be back up in Glasgow on 18th February as one of the two guests for STARs final close season event being held at Hampden.
