SuperSTARs Night

The STARS first event of the winter was held at Firhill last night and as had been promised it turned out to be an excellent night.

It started out with Alan Dick giving an update on various items to do with Glasgow Speedway including the effects of the AGM, the announcement of Buildbase as new sponsors and the current status of the teambuilding with the signings of Robert Ksiezak and Shane Parker being confirmed. Graham Lister of Buildbase was on hand to give the new sponsors viewpoint.

Sadly the news was not all good with the update on David McAllan (see here) not being what Glasgow fans had hoped for and the news was met with an almost stunned silence. It was confirmed that there will be a benefit meeting for David at some point next season.

The main event then started and the audience were treated to some frank opinions, humorous discussion and interesting insights into speedway and some of the issues surrounding it as well as stories from Chris and Kelvin's riding days.

The three panelists worked well together with Derek Smith leading the questioning well alongside Graham from Revival Fm and the night was certainly value for money entertainment.

It will be difficult to follow this event but STARs have already shown their intention to give it a good go by announcing that their guests for the next event on 1st February will be Robert Nagy and Chris Harris.
