Graded at 8 in the Conference League last season, Steven rode at Redcar with the Bays alongside Gary Beaton. His appearances were limited to only 9 outings however thanks mostly to injury.

He is thought of as an entertainer and apparently had a tendency to ride the boards a little erratically at times to add to the entertainment - hard to imagine for those who saw Steven finish runner up to Matej Kus in the 2006 Heathersfield Championship when he always looked well in control.

His only appearances at Premier League level were back in 98 when he rode 6 meetings for Edinburgh and 4 for Newcastle and its fair to say its likely Steven's riding is now only likely to be entertaining the fans at Conference League level .
