Anders Andersen Joins Tigers
(Posted 28/05/08)
Glasgow have moved to make changes in their injury hit line up by introducing 20 year old Anders Andersen to the side.
It had been made clear that a change was about to happen, especially given the injury crises Tigers have at the moment although there may be some surprise that it is Ross Brady who is temporarily making way - Ross has been in good form for the Tigers since dropping to reserve but his knee injury means rest is probably best for him.
Anders currently rides in Denmark with Grinsted and is also one of two foreigners in the Poznan squad in Poland - the other being Kauko Nieminen.
Denmark have grades for riders in a team rather than averages and Anders is listed as a 'C' grade rider (as a comparison, Bager and Legault are listed as B grade riders for Grinsted). He has ridden in all four of Grinsted's League meetings this season, scoring quite well, and is due to be in action for them again this evening as they travel to take on Fjelsted, a team who have still to score a point this season.
Anders has also had some success in the European Championships this year and will miss the home meeting against Workington on the 8th June when he is due to ride in the European Championships semi-final at Herxheim in Germany. He qualified through to this meeting from the qualifier at Gyula in Hungary earlier this month.
Anders is still young and it will no doubt take him some time to settle into British speedway but, subject to BSPA approval, he will make his debut on Sunday against Sheffield and will become another young Tigers asset.
Welcome to Glasgow Anders!
