Tigers 'Safe' Guest Appearances
(Posted 10/05/08)
Ross Brady and Gary Beaton both came through their guest appearances for Reading safely at Armadale last night, no doubt much to the relief of Tigers fans.
Against two of the strongest home reserves in the league, Ross scored 4 from his three rides. He held on to second place for most of the reserve race but drifted too wide on the final lap and Summers took full advantage to come through.
There was another flash of the new determined Ross Brady in his second heat when he refused to yield to pressure from Wethers on the opening bends, something the home fans weren't too happy at, but Ross had the line and held it, Wethers having to shut off eventually when it was clear there was no way through.
His second place came in heat 8 and in fairness was partly due to a Ryan Fisher error - Fisher had not put enough fuel in his bike, causing him to slow considerably on the final lap and Ross took advantage to come through into second. In as reserve replacement in heat 12, Ross recorded his only last place of the evening.
It was not such a good night for Gary as he was a bit off pace but in fairness Summers and Tully round Armadale are both strong riders and probably little more could be expected.
Ross will now move on to race with Reading again this evening at Derwent Park as they take on Workington. Reading have advised that they also offered Gary Beaton the opportunity of a guest appearance at Workington but Gary declined as he wanted the extra time to prepare his equipment for Glasgow tomorrow.
Good Luck tonight Ross
