Now Its Beaton the Racer!

Reading will now also be without Jamie Smith on their northern tour and as a replacement they have called upon the services of Gary Beaton this evening at Armadale.

Smith is suffering from concussion following a crash at Smallmead on Monday and Racers have to use a conference League guest to cover his absence.

As a Conference League guest, Gary is probably the best choice Racers could have made for this evening as he knows the Armadale circuit better than most .

From a Glasgow point of view, it will also give Ross and Gary a chance to suss each other out in heat two ahead of their heat 2 appearance for the Tigers on Sunday.

Disappointingly for Gary, Reading have elected not to use him at Workington.
