Robert Shines at Belle Vue
(Posted 28/06/08)

Robert Ksiezak continued his run of excellent form this evening as he recorded an impressive score of 10+3 for Belle Vue as they defeated Peterborough by 52-41, getting himself nominated as the fans Man of the Meeting in the process.

Robert was out in the opening heat, taking a r/r ride, finishing second to Hans Andersen. His partner Jason Crump was at the back for the early part of the heat before coming through into third on the final lap.

The reserve race saw another second place for Robert at the third attempt of running,

Heat 4 saw Robert out for the third time, this time as a replacement for fellow reserve Jonas Raun. He had to work very hard in second place behind team mate Joe Screen to hold off Edinburgh's Andrew Tully, just managing to thwart his challenge on the run in to the line to ensure a 5-1 for the aces.

He teamed up with Joe Screen once again in heat 8 and once again they gated on a 5-1. This time however Robert had to settle for third place after Risager passed up the inside.

In heat 10 he was out once again with Jason Crump and the two Aussie's posted a comfortable 5-1 from the tapes, Robert finishing in second place.

He was straight out again in heat 11 but this heat was not to be such a good one for him. His bike looked to be down on power and as a result Robert finished at the back of the field.

Robert took his 7th ride in heat 14 and although he looked a little tired by this stage he still managed a comfortable third place ahead of Andrew Tully.

Robert, Belle Vue's no 8, was in as replacement for Nick Simmons who was out with rib injuries recently sustained. He continues to be very popular with the Belle Vue faithful for his gutsy performances with some at the end of this evening's meeting already calling for him to be signed up now for next years team
