Tigers Reserves in Action at Lynn
(Posted 18/06/08)

Both Glasgow reserves were in action at King's Lynn this evening with Josh Grajczonek stepping in at the last minute to replace Sam Martin in the Lions line up - technically changing nationality to do so.

Mitchell as previously advised was named in the Young Roo's side when the event was announced last week which meant the two were in direct competition with each other.

Anyone watching updates would have had their heart in their mouth as Josh went out for his first outing on the Norfolk Arena track as he crashed heavily after a coming together with Arlo Bugeja. Thankfully although it looked nasty Josh was unhurt although excluded from the re-run. It was the tigers other reserve who was to impress in the re-run, Mitchell winning from the gate and having to work hard to hold off Jerran Hart.

Josh was back out in heat 4 where John Oliver was able to take advantage of his knowledge of the track in the battle for second place, passing outside Josh who was trying an inside line.

Heat 6 saw Mitchell's second outing and the crowd were to witness another one of Mitchell's 'Wall of Death' rides as he rode the fence in the first running to avoid the fallen Lewis Bridger. Bridger was excluded from the re-run but this time Mitchell was outgated by Oliver and Rolph and unable to find a way back.

The two youngsters were to come up against each other in heat 8 with Mitchell once again making the gate. Josh however passed him coming out of the second bend as did Ty Proctor, Proctor going on to win with Josh second and Mitchell third.

One heat later, Mitchell claimed a paid second place in an uneventful heat from the tapes.

The team mates faced each other again in heat 12 but were left to battle each other for third place, Josh again coming out on top.

That was to be Josh's last outing but Mitchell was out once again in heat 14. He spent the first two laps at the rear but managed to get by Darren Mallett at the start of the third lap to claim his fourth third place of the night which, combined with his heat 2 win, left him with a total of 7+2 (6) whilst with his first race exclusion Josh finished on 4+1 (4) .
