Robert Impresses at Perry Barr

Robert Ksiezak endeared himself to the Birmingham fans at Perry Parr with a decent return of 9+1, including a heat win that many of the home fans felt was crucial to securing a Birmingham win.
In a close fought meeting - in heat 9 Lyons and Stonehewer couldn't be separated for second place and were given a dead heat - Robert scored some crucial points at important times.
His opening ride, he was outgated by Daniel Nermark but was able to comfortably hold second place. It was followed however by a minor blip in heat 6 when missing the gate proved costly and Robert finished at the rear.
Going into heat 8, Birmingham were two points down but another good gate from Robert with team mate and ex-Tiger Jamie Birkinshaw right behind him, gave Birmingham a 5-1 to take the lead.
Nieminen was again to prove untouchable in heat 10 and Robert followed team mate for the night Jason Lyons home for a paid second.
The most crucial ride from Robert in Birmingham terms was to be in heat 13. Facing Nermark and Stonehewer with the home side only one point up, expectations were low. However an excellent gate from Robert saw him hit the front, team mate Craig Watson came through into second place on the opening bends and although Nermark was eventually to pass him, Robert had by then opened up a significant gap to ensure his win.
