Another Good Performance from Josh
(Posted 25/07/08)
Josh Grajczonek endeared himself to the Birmingham fans once again with another sterling performance guesting for them tonight at Scunthorpe although it didn't stop the Brummies going down by 49-44.
Heat 2 saw Josh win comfortably from the tapes and with his partner Jack Roberts in second place they got the first of only two 1-5's for the Brummies.
Out again in heat 4, it was basically left to Josh to tackle the home pairing of Wilkinson and Powell with Watson tailing off at the back. In the early stages in particular, Josh was all over the back of Powell but Wilkinson appeared to show remarkable awareness of this, letting his weaker team mate through at the end of the second lap and taking over the job of holding Josh off for the remainder of the race.
Josh gated in heat 8 but held the lead only until the end of the opening lap, the home side's Viktor Bergstrom finding excellent grip out wide and sweeping round the outside of both him and second placed Roberts into the lead. Josh tried to hit back but to no avail and had to settle for second place.
In his final outing in heat 14, Josh made one of his poorer gates and was unable to recover, coming in at the back although never giving up.
As a result, Josh finished with a very creditable 6 points from 4 rides
Once again the Birmingham fans were more than happy with their guest and many felt that he should perhaps have been used more on the night as he looked classy and confident on the track
