5+2 for Josh At Birmingham
(Posted 23/07/08)
Josh put in a steady and consistent performance guesting for Birmingham tonight as the Brummies overcame Redcar by a single point.
His opening ride in heat 2 saw him in third place in an uneventful heat from the gate.
He was out again in heat 4 and participated in an exciting race. He and temporary team mate Craig Watson made the gate and held the 5- 1 for 3 laps. However, Redcar's Ty Proctor was challenging all the way and eventually found his way past Josh on the outside on lap 3.
Josh was out quicker than expected again when he was called on to replace Lee Smart who failed to make the two minutes. With Kerr excluded in the first running of the heat, Josh was left to secure third place behind Havelock and Lyons who had a great battle out front.
Heat 8 saw a very tight opening bend between the riders but it was Kerr who came out of bend two ahead, Josh settling in behind his team mate Jack Hargreaves for third place.
Josh's final outing was in heat 12 where he once again claimed third place although this time it was thanks to an engine failure from James Grieves who was in second place.
Overall, the comments were that Josh rode a decent meeting and the home fans were certainly happy with his contribution.
