Cockle Named Peterborough No 8

Tigers Asset James Cockle has been named as Peterborough's Official No 8 for the 2008 season.

Basically it means James will be called on to cover for either of the Panthers reserves if they are unable to ride in a meeting.

He has previously ridden a few meetings for the Panthers whilst in the Glasgow team including a rather contentious appearance against Poole in August 2006 where he withdrew after one ride suffering from the aftereffects of an injury picked up in the Tigers previous meeting. As he was riding as a guest at no 4, it allowed the Panthers to use their stronger reserves to cover his 3 remaining rides and they went on to beat the Pirates by 1 point .
