Ksiezak Joins Torun
(Posted 07/02/08)
Robert Ksiezak continues to make the signing news this week with confirmation that he has surprisingly been signed up by Polish side Torun as one of their squad for 2008.
It's surprising as Poland race primarily on a Sunday, the same as Glasgow and therefore Robert's availability for his new club will be limited. Understandably however with his Polish heritage Robert has always stated he would like to race there.
Torun are based in the North of the country and finished second in the Ekstraliga last season. Other riders in their 2008 squad include fellow Aussie's Ryan Sullivan and Chris Holder and Denmark's Hans Anderson.
Looking at their fixture list for the 2008 season there are only two meetings not scheduled for a Sunday, these being on 15th May and 20th June, both against Lesznow.
For those who understand Polish or have a decent language translator, Torun's website is at http://www.speedway.torun.pl/ with the Sportowefakty site also good for information on Polish speedway.
