Another Good BV Meeting for Robert
(Posted 06/04/08)
It was a good night for Robert Ksiezak in the Sky televised meeting at Kirkmanshulme Lane this evening as Belle Vue beat a strong Poole side 50-43.
He got off to a good start in heat 2, coming second in a heat that Freddie Eriksson of Poole won from the gate. In the opening stages, Robert was side by side with Eriksson but the Poole reserve pulled clear towards the end of the opening lap.
This was followed by a relatively easy paid win behind Joe Screen in heat 7 after Davey Watt had fallen on the opening bend. The only action of the relatively mundane heat was an inside pass by Robert on Zabik coming out of the opening bends.
Robert was then brought in as a reserve switch for heat 8 but his luck did not hold. Poole had brought Eriksson in as a TR and although his team mate Zabik gated, Robert settled in with partner Forsberg to team ride to try and thwart the move. Eriksson pressured continually though and was to get his reward passing both Belle Vue riders at the start of the final lap. To add insult to injury for Robert, he went too wide and slid off in the dirt into the fence.
Heat 11 saw Robert out again, this time though finishing at the rear. He got a further outing in heat 14 however, and claimed third spot behind team mate Janowski with the impressive Freddie Eriksson winning the heat for the Pirates.
Robert's return of 5+2 was probably in excess of what Belle Vue had hoped for and he once again impressed the Belle Vue faithful on the night.
Well done Robert
