Stancl Injured in Freak Accident

It has now been confirmed that Glasgow asset George Stancl has a broken collarbone and broken ribs after a freak accident at Scunthorpe on Friday evening.

George had just finished in second place in heat 13 but the heat winner, Richard Hall, slowed quicker than George realised. Unfortunately George ran into his back wheel and high sided over his bike resulting in his injuries.

Because of the combination of the injuries, early estimates are that George could be out for a month but with speedway riders you can never tell.

George is still a very popular individual at Glasgow and will be sorely missed by Newcastle after a confident start to the season.
